Westminster, MD - March 27, 2007: As part of its educational campaign, “Celebrating Children…The Arts Can Make A Difference”, Moscow Ballet will host its Summer Dance Program at the Westminster Ballet Theatre (WBT), in-residence at State of the Arts Dance & Music Center, located at 90 Aileron Ct., Suite 3, Westminster, MD 21157 from July 16th – 27th, 2007. Taught by Svetlana Todinova, a Moscow Ballet Russian soloist, this two week intensive workshop includes classes of ballet technique, Pointe and variations, character dance, partnering, and repertory classes in which students will be taught excerpts from classical ballets. Children ages 6 to young adult are invited to participate in this cultural training program.
Developed by Moscow Ballet’s co-producer, Mary Talmi, the Moscow Ballet’s Summer Dance Program is a unique training cultural program for children to work one-on-one with a Russian soloist. Introduced in 2004, hosted in only eight dance studios, the program became an instant success. Last year, over twenty-five dance studios participated in this wonderful intensive workshop.
Westminster Ballet Theatre is proud to be partnering with the Moscow Ballet to provide our community with world class dance instruction and artistic excellence that is the Moscow Ballet. The WBT looks forward to a long and creative alliance with the Moscow Ballet.
